The Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), through Project ADHUNA (Advancing Delivery of Healthcare through Upgraded Newborn and Intrapartum Care Approaches), conducted the second phase of its Continuing Professional Development (CPD 2.0) programme to strengthen healthcare providers’ capacities in the prevention and management of preterm births. Designed around a continuum-of-care approach, the initiative equips doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff with updated clinical guidance and practical skills across antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and neonatal care.
Aligarh, one of the 29 districts under Project ADHUNA, hosted its CPD 2.0 session on 14 May 2026 under the leadership of Dr. Bhaskar Pal, President, FOGSI, and Dr. Jaydeep Tank, Project Director, ADHUNA, in collaboration with the Aligarh Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society. Guided by Dr. Tamkin Khan and Dr. Sumbul Khan, the programme at Lemon Tree Hotel, Aligarh brought together healthcare professionals for focused discussions and skill-building on prematurity care. Sessions were led by resource faculty including Dr. Anshu Raina, Dr. Priyanka Garg, Prof. Uzma, Dr. Namrata Bharadwaj, Dr. Anjula Bhargava, Dr. Vikas Malhotra, Dr. Manazir Ali, and Mr. Sanchit Bhatia. Key topics included preterm birth screening and interventions, labour management, puerperal care, neonatal resuscitation, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), and innovations such as Mother–Newborn Care Units (MNCU) and portable CPAP devices, reinforcing FOGSI’s commitment to strengthening quality maternal and newborn healthcare practices.
